Hello, beloved of God,
The ministry of video-recorded morning devotions came out of our practice of social distancing at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chatsworth, IL, where I serve as pastor. Parishioners found comfort in receiving the Word and listening to these reflections daily except for Sundays when we worship.
I realize my presence in this site has been erratic at best. Much has happened in the past couple of years, and not all was good. This shared devotional discipline has awakened parts of my ministry, which I once considered in life support.
I tell my audience that I was definitely not born to be on camera. It is incredibly uncomfortable for me. Nonetheless, the necessity of streaming everything during the COVID-19 lockdown has pushed me into the open and out of my comfort zone. I still have ways to go to become half-way decent on the craft of video logging. However, it is my hope that my struggles, combined with the trust that Christ will make himself heard if he so wishes, may inspire others to take the paths that God lays for us and be guided not by sight but faith.
My sincere prayers that you enjoy these devotions and be somewhat inspired by them.
The Spirit be upon you.
Pastor Mauricio
